Mission & Five-Point Programmatic Thrust

The mission of the Continental Societies, Inc. is to create environments within our communities that empower
children to have access to quality and appropriate opportunities.

In 1972, Continental Societies, Inc. initiated its National program "Operation Awareness: HEER Health, Education, Employment and Recreation". Each component of our programmatic thrust was chosen because of its significance in the lives of all young people and the necessity to provide activities and projects in these areas to enhance the lives of children and youth with special needs. In 1977, a fifth component, Arts and Humanities was added.

Each chapter surveys, investigates and reports the needs and problems of children and youth in their community and subsequently initiates and implements programs, projects and activities in the areas designed to meet the needs of their communities.

Projects range from health fairs and drug abuse programs to community Health awareness seminars; Reading Is Fundamental sponsorships, tutoring and scholarship awards, career and employability workshops and job placement; cultural programs, etiquette and leadership academies.

Special programs are developed to provide exposure to college campuses for middle school students and to motivate and stimulate their minds and cultivate their awareness of their culture and to broaden their future.

Each component of our Five Point Programmatic Thrust working independently will maximize the future readiness of their young minds as future leaders.
